I watched a few episodes of it. I must have been 11 years old bus still questioned the appropriateness of including real world leaders in a cartoon about talking dogs.

The only clear memory I have of this show was catching a little bit of it on a tv at a furniture store.

I distinctly remember the Hannibal Lecter dog eating a bunch of piranha-people enemies that were almost certainly sentient, if not sapient, and that's all I remember.

Never heard of this.

Hey guys - in this episode you mention the Samurai Pizza Cats, which was actually one of my favorite shows of the time. It was not so much a TMNT-ripoff as a parody; its weekly recipe was silly story lines involving a rat villain named The Big Cheese, goofy references to their double lives as pizza-couriers-slash-crime-fighters, and a voice-over (sounding vaguely like a drunk Don Pardo) making meta jokes throughout the episode. I don't know if it holds up (I haven't seen it in a LONG time) but if you'd asked the 14-year-old me, he would have highly recommended it.

And some more on Samurai Pizza Cats: I think it's well(? maybe just among anime nerds) known that the original Japanese show was NOT a parody, but was played as a pretty general kid's cartoon. However, when it was brought to the US, there were little to no translations available, so they pretty much just turned it into a parody (pretty smart move for the time), with lots of puns and 4th wall breaking.

Plus they look like cats dressed as gundams! They're cute. I've heard people say it holds up decently, but I haven't watched it in forever so I couldn't say for sure.
