Episode 217 - The Dead Pool

On this week's episode, Listener Request Month rolls on as the gang takes a trip to foggy San Francisco for a ride along with Dirty Harry Callahan in the super silly, super murder-y The Dead Pool! What's with the useless C-grade mafia story line? Has there ever been another instance of a ponytail being used as a red herring? And were they really trying to tell us that Johnny Squares wrote "Welcome to the Jungle" and sang exactly like Axl Rose? PLUS: Dirty Harry fights zombies, joking robots and negligent salad bar attendants!

The Dead Pool stars Clint Eastwood, Patricia Clarkson, Liam Neeson, Evan C. Kim, David Hunt and James Carrey; directed by Buddy Van Horn.

Worst episode so far from you guys, fell flat every moment. The annoying Clint Eastwood impressions that sucked. The ripping on Unknown. The ripping on Dirty Harry movies, no mention of Magnum Force by the way, that sucks. The ripping on Clint Eastwood directed movies, yeah no one goes to see those,oh look at the box office for American Sniper, guess you're wrong. Trying so hard to be funny, but it ends up shallow and really stupid or should I say f***king stupid like you do on the show. Here's to a better episode soon. The Dead Pool is a ridiculously fun movie if you give it a freaking chance and is a recommend from me. So far, Mortal Kombat: Annihilation has been the only good one you have done. This sucked hard. Sorry. FAIL.

Get a grip. This was one of the best episodes yet. Go listen to another podcast because this one is above your IQ level

Conley, comedy is subjective. I enjoyed the Clint Eastwood "impression" and impressions are like 20% of WHM. I was only sad their Wilford Brimley didn't show up and sad they they haven't worked together as grumpy old men. Also sad their wasn't a Liam Neeson impression.

But Conley, dude, if you don't like snarky people, as you mention in your film blog, this is the WRONG PODCAST for you man. Go listen to Ebert clips (although he was snarky too?) And what the heck, you like the Mortal Kombat episode, that has a bunch of Christopher Lambert impressions.

P.S. Are you Clint Eastwood/did you just come back from daisy chaining with him?

P.P.S. You do realize the irony of complaining about people complaining about movies on your blog right?

http://darkdungeonofcinema.blogspot.com/

"And he's nothing but a fan boy who's mad at ever adaptation of a beloved source material. The archetype angry nerd that has become such a horrible cliche among them"

Dude, look at yourself. That statement applies to YOU. In the post above that, you say "The Giver- Can't we leave at least one novel from my teenager years unadapted?"

If you have something interesting or funny to say, say it. Just tearing people down doesn't add anything. And for fucks sake, break up your posts into paragraphs man. I (and this is not a joke, as a sufferer of it myself) hope you're managing your depression and continue to keep writing.

I do realize the irony

This isn't a complaint, it's a critique.

Oh, you hunted down that old thing, failed it may be. Yeah, I gave up on that, realized how silly the whole crap of it was.
It didn't work for me at all. It was just a stupid movie review blog that I foolishly did as a hobby. I really must have struck a cord for you to actively hunt it down and bring it up to try to hurt me with. It didn't work. I just thought it was a bad episode, they have them on here. I grow tired of the negativity and crap sometimes and yes I have to voice my displeasure.
This actually their worst since Space Jam.

You need my post to be broken down in paragraphs huh? Screw you, I don't care what you want me to do.

Chris Lambert had a somewhat better impression done for him by the way. It was still far from accurate and jokes about him being blind are rather nonsensical, because clearly he has no problem with his sight.

Space Jam especially, seem a desperate fest of jabs at something they hated dearly, but all it amounted to was vulgarity and bad jokes. I'm all for snark, but if it's actually funny and works. It doesn't here.

I liked it well enough before, the Wired episode. Others, hell the Deep Impact episode. It's just tiresome after a while.
Please try again, if I have hurt your idols so bad that you need to resort to digging up old sites to slam me with. That's rather pathetic.

I have a grip. My IQ is high enough to understand everything here. I'm just responding to their podcast with a feedback review of it. And, sorry if I don't give it a positive review.

Ah, Mr. Garth thinks bringing it up is going to do something to me? Pfffftttt. Yeah, that really shamed me Garth. lol His reaction is really pathetic. But hilarious all the same. My past experiment at a film blog is crappy, but hey doesn't stop me from talking smack about these guys. They actually were doing good at the beginning for god's sakes. I sucked from moment one. They've just gotten awful after a while.

Holy moley, what a creature. I'm kind of in awe of the...I don't know how to put it...goofiness? Lack of self-awareness? Wow!

Hey, Franky, try to laugh at something that no longer exists! LoL. Yeah, I get what you guys are doing, one step ahead of you, it's gone. If you want to use that to bully people because they have an opinion about this podcast. Then fine, I'll just remove it from the equation. Have a nice night. Enjoy trying to find a blog that now no longer exists. You guys are very funny with the dime store bullying techniques here, must have not passed high school huh?

I guess the fanboys of this podcast are some real losers and bottomfeeders. I must have hurt you and your idols badly for you to go after me that badly. Bye Bye.

This was a great episode. Haha shoutout to the guy that said the Mortal Kombat: Annihilation episode was "the only good one." If you listen to 217 episodes of something and like 1, maybe it isn't for you? lol

I usually pause the podcast when listening on public transport because I need to fight the urge to awkwardly burst out laughing. I wasn't quick enough this time when you got to the impressions of Dirty Harry talking about flowers. Thanks!

As hilarious as your impersonation of Harry is, it sounded more like Jesse Ventura.
